Ndiaye puts Blades step nearer glory

-

ILIMAN NDIAYE’S second-half goal extended Sheffield United’s lead over Middlesbrough in the race for promotion to the Premier League. The Blades were watched by prospective new owner Dozy Mmobuosi and he saw them control the early stages.

Ollie McBurnie aimed a header into the arms of keeper Joe Lumley, who was called into further action when he turned away a bouncing shot by Sander Berge.

The Blades scored the only goal of the game on 60 minutes as McBurnie pulled the ball back from the byline to Ndiaye, who tapped in. Reading were still dangerous and Wes Foderingham tipped over an Andy Carroll header on 75 minutes. But Paul Heckingbottom’s side held on to go seven points clear of third.
