Cardiff crash: Officers probe caravan park ‘altercation’
DETECTIVES are investigating an alleged ‘altercation’ at a caravan park said to have taken place hours before the tragic Cardiff car crash that left three dead.
Eve Smith and Darcy Ross, both 21, and Rafel Jeanne, 24, were found dead in the car on Monday. Sophie Russon, 20, and Shane Loughlin, 32, are in critical condition after being left in the wreckage for nearly two days.
The alleged argument occurred at Trecco Bay caravan park in Porthcawl where the group involved in the crash had travelled to last Friday night. They had driven 40 miles to the site after leaving a nightclub in Newport.
The crash on the A48(M) took place some time after they were last seen in Cardiff around 2am on Saturday.
Detectives are looking for a sixth passenger – a man – who is understood to have been dropped off at his home in Cardiff after they left the site.
Police confirmed yesterday they are investigating the alleged altercation, the Daily Mirror reports. A spokesman for South Wales Police said they would not comment while the investigation was ongoing.
