Hand over the data

I HAVE to disagree with Sarah Vine’s view that Isabel Oakeshott would have served the public interest better if she had quietly handed over the Matt Hancock WhatsApp data to the Covid inquiry chairwoman Baroness Hallett rather than divulge it to a newspaper.

There has been no deadline set for the inquiry, so who knows when it will be published.

I believe it’s important that the people involved in making decisions in the handling of the pandemic are brought to account.

I hope the baroness has been in touch with Ms Oakeshott demanding that she send her all of the data.
