ALAN DAVIES: AS YET UNTITLED, 10PM, DAVE
THE aim of this unscripted and unpredictable show is to come up with a title by the end of a roundtable discussion between host Alan Davies (pictured) and his four guests. Filmed before a live audience, its scrappiness is a welcome change from so many other panel shows — when watching this it becomes clear how heavily edited shows such as Would I Lie To You? or Davies’s own QI are. Expect no-holds-barred conversation that veers off into some pretty surreal, often saucy and sometimes scary directions, leading to titles including The Bringer Of Spiders and Creamcakes And Pernod. Guests in the line-up for this seventh series — all of which arrives on UKTV play today — include Russell Kane, Jessica Hynes and Alex Jones, with Sue Perkins kicking things off in the first episode, along with comedians Jamali Maddix, Lara Ricote and Josh Jones. Perkins tells a good story about a nun costume, and recalls the only place where security was needed while filming with Bake Off — Ilford.
