Henderson’s girl groomed for glory

IT’S a massive day for the Nicky Henderson stable and particularly a big occasion for his head groom Katie Croft.

Croft, with her partner and fellow Henderson head groom David Fehily, put together the Canter Banter syndicate which owns Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle hope Theatre Glory, an impressive winner at Warwick on her last run. Croft’s syndicate lease Theatre Glory from her breeder after she failed to sell at auction. Henderson (right) also has 2020

Croft said: ‘I spread the word about the syndicate on social media and we got 20 people involved who we have never met before. Most of them had never had contact with a horse before. ‘Theatre Glory always shows us the right signs and loves her job. She has learnt with every run. We are the underdogs so whatever happens is a bonus.’
