King knights Brian, giant of rock...
ROCK royalty met the real thing yesterday as Queen legend Brian May was knighted by the King for his services to music and charity.
But the lofty guitarist – who at a reported 6ft 1in stood as tall as the 5ft 10in monarch on a dais – was no stranger to Buckingham Palace.
The 75-year-old animal welfare advocate performed the National Anthem solo on the roof for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 2002, and We Will Rock You last summer with bandmates for her Platinum Jubilee.
Sir Brian said receiving his award was ‘a very good feeling, very special’.
