Paying the penalty
IT SHOULD surprise no one that the BBC set up a penalty shootout and then capitulated just before it was about to get under way.
Director-general Tim Davie failed to anticipate the support gary Lineker had in the locker room.
he had to get off the bench before gary because another weekend without football pundits would have triggered a civil war.
The lesson is, don’t turn up at a shootout unless you have some balls and boots! Whatever you think of gary Lineker, he has demonstrated the time-honoured traits of courage, leadership and having an independent mind.
