FULKE WALWYN HANDICAP CHASE

-

5.30: 3 MILES, 2 FURLONGS

DUNBOYNE is a mercurial character, but there is little doubt he is a useful chaser when in the mood and victory would enhance the excellent record of his trainer and jockey in this race.

Gordon Elliott has had a hand in training three of the last seven winners (2021’s Mount Ida was officially trained by Denise Foster), while Jamie Codd has partnered four of the last 14 victors, so they have proved a formidable combination, and in Dunboyne they have a contender with all the attributes for a race of this nature. A repeat of his effort in the Thyestes Chase last time would give him huge claims.

Novices have won the last four renewals, so BEAUPORT also makes some appeal on his handicap bow, while MUSICAL SLAVE catches the eye because his owner has enjoyed considerable success in this contest.
