CHESSUM IN BATTLE TO BE FIT FOR WORLD CUP

ENGLAND lock Ollie Chessum faces a race to recover for the World Cup in September after dislocatin­g his ankle. Chessum suffered the injury in training on Tuesday and will have surgery. Steve Borthwick revealed he will be sidelined for five to six months. Head coach Borthwick said: ‘The determinat­ion he has to be back in an England shirt is quite immense.

‘He will have the opportunit­y to be fit and back on the field for the Rugby World Cup.’
