Euro bonuses unlikely for Brentford
BRENTFORD’S players will not receive any bonuses if they make history by taking the club into Europe for the first time. Thomas Frank’s side are in eighth place, one point off the Europa Conference League spot.
Sportsmail has learned that Brentford’s players have no financial stake in European qualification, however, unless they finish in the top four. That extraordinary achievement would trigger a bonus pot of £3 million to be shared among the squad, although given Brentford are seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham such an outcome is unlikely. However, most of the players will be entitled to an additional payment based on the club’s finishing position. Brentford’s bonus scheme is worth considerably less than many of their Premier League rivals.
