JES STALEY TO BE QUIZZED OVER HIS EPSTEIN LINKS

-

JES Staley will face a two-day grilling next week over his links to the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The former Barclays and JP Morgan boss is accused of covering up key information about Epstein’s sex trafficking operation.

He will be quizzed on Thursday and Friday by lawyers for JP Morgan, which has accused him of ‘intentional and outrageous conduct’ for concealing key information about the late paedophile.

The American bank is being sued by the government of the US Virgin Islands, where Epstein had an island, over claims it turned a blind eye to Epstein’s operation.

But JP Morgan has sued Staley ( pictured), claiming he should be ‘solely liable’ for any damages that would need to be paid out because he breached his duty of care as a senior executive. JP Morgan accuses Staley, 66, of breach of fiduciary duty, among other claims.

Staley, who resigned as Barclays boss in 2021, has denied any involvement in Epstein’s alleged crimes. JP Morgan was asked to comment.
