AS PART of the deranged net Zero drive to make us all colder and poorer, British Gas is offering refunds to people daft enough to install a heat pump.

The company admits these pumps can’t produce the same temperatures as traditional boilers. So why buy one in the first place, especially at ten grand- plus a pop? ecomentalists insist they are more efficient than gas boilers. But so what if they leave you shivering?

Greenies are encouraged by the fact that ‘Britain’s leading home heating company’ is providing heat pumps.

But the reason British Gas is the leading home heating company is, er, well the clue’s in the name.
