Harry Potter star splits with lover after 2 years
THEY had always seemed an unlikely couple – and now the romance between Emma Watson and Brandon Green is over, the Daily Mail can reveal.
Sources say the Harry Potter actress and Mr Green, son of one-time King of the High Street Sir Philip Green, went their separate ways following a ‘serious’ romance which lasted more than two years.
Both had met each other’s parents and there were holidays including a break in Venice.
Ms Watson is well known for her environmental activism – perhaps an uneasy fit with Mr Green’s family, who have a private jet, helicopter and two yachts.
The pair were first seen on the Greens’ helicopter at a helipad in Battersea, south-west London.
Mr Green, 29, had a reputation as a party-lover and previously dated a number of models. Raised in the tax haven of Monaco, his bar mitzvah, at the fabled Hotel Du Cap, included performances by Beyonce and Andrea Bocelli.
However, more recently he demonstrated an interest in good works including biodiversity.
Family jet-setting aside, he had seemed a good match for Ms Watson – a serious- minded woman who took a degree at Brown University in the US after her Potter stint as Hermione Granger, and now harbours ambitions to work behind the camera, having set up two production companies. But in March, a fellow concert-goer at a Taylor Swift gig in Las Vegas claimed to have seen her in the audience with ex- boyfriend Brendan Wallace, a tech mogul. It’s not clear, though, whether he has captivated her again or they simply remain good friends.
So what went wrong? It seems Ms Watson, 33, had an epiphany connected to her ‘Saturn return’ and wanted out of the relationship. The phrase refers to when the planet Saturn returns to the position it was in at the moment you were born. Astrologers say it signifies the end of one life-cycle and the start of the next.
In an Instagram post marking her birthday in April, Ms Watson wrote: ‘This is 33. Holy moly. Before 29 I hadn’t even heard of a Saturn return as a concept. Let’s just say that now I am well acquainted. I felt really sad and p***** off about a lot of things. I learnt more about love and being a woman.’ She didn’t refer to a split from Mr
