I was fooled by woman posing as a boy in bed, teenage girl tells court

- By James Tozer

A WOMAN pretended to be a boy in bed when seducing a teenage girl, a court heard yesterday.

Georgia Bilham, 21, is accused of tricking the short-sighted girl by taking away her glasses, keeping her own clothes on and hiding her long, blonde hair under a hoodie during their sexual encounters.

The girl allegedly learnt the truth only after she introduced ‘George’ to her mother, who the prosecution say was not taken in. She then discovered Bilham’s true identity on social media.

The alleged victim, who at the time was in her late teens, told the jury yesterday that while she never saw George’s ‘penis’, she twice felt what she described as ‘a willy-like figure’ against her leg.

One was when they were lying in bed next to each other at her house ‘spooning’. The other was when Bilham arrived to collect her and brushed past her leg, she said.

Describing the second time it allegedly happened, she said: ‘I thought we were about to have sex – this was the night.’

The jury also heard about messages the girl exchanged with her mother, who had said she didn’t believe her boyfriend was a man.

‘Did you deffo feel a willy?’ her mother asked.

‘Yes deffo. why did you think he’s a girl?’ she replied. The girl told the court: ‘I just felt like some sort of willy figure, like, hard willy figure.’

But Bilham’s barrister said her client denies ever having done anything aimed at ‘mimicking a penis’. The alleged victim also admitted to police there had once been part of her that wanted to ‘ experiment with girls’ – but insisted the thought now made her feel ‘sick’.

Bilham had allegedly set up a fake Snapchat profile under the name George Parry and began messaging the girl online.

In 2021 they progressed to meeting up for sexual activity, with Bilham taking away the extremely short-sighted girl’s glasses, leaving her ‘essentially blind’, Chester Crown Court has heard.

Bilham allegedly insisted on keeping her hood up at all times, claiming she was being hunted by an Albanian criminal gang.

After overcoming her suspicions that Bilham was really female, the alleged victim began sleeping with her even though the accused

‘The thought of it made me sick’

insisted on keeping her hood up when in bed.

Bilham, from Alpraham, Cheshire, is charged with nine counts of sexual assault and eight counts of assault by penetration, all of which she denies.

In cross- examination, Martine Snowdon, Bilham’s barrister, pointed to messages the teenager sent to George saying ‘OK little boy/ girl?’ and ‘How are you girl?’

In another, she had written: ‘I hate being a girl but you know what that feels like.’

The alleged victim answered that the messages were ‘banter’ and a ‘joke’ and denied sending them knowing Bilham was a girl.

In another message, she wrote: ‘I just don’t believe anything you say.’ Ms Snowdon suggested it showed the teenager was aware Bilham was not a boy.

‘No, it was about his stories, the Albanians,’ she replied. ‘I couldn’t have a relationship with somebody who wasn’t honest with me.’

Ms Snowdon put it to her that she ‘chose to go on with the relationship because you were in love with the person, not who they were identifying as’.

The girl, whose identity is protected by law, denied this.

Jurors were told on Monday by prosecutor Anna Pope that although the alleged victim agreed to sexual activity with George, she was ‘clear that she did not consent to have sexual activity with a woman’.

In a further extract from her police interviews played yesterday she was asked if she would ever have had sexual contact with George if she’d known ‘he’ was really Georgia.

‘No I wouldn’t,’ she answered. ‘I’m not gay.’ She said there was once part of her ‘that wanted to experiment with girls but the thought of it made me sick’.

Jurors also heard a voice message allegedly sent by Bilham while posing as George in which she told the teenager she was from Birmingham and used a Birmingham accent.

Bilham is said to have deleted the Snapchat account under George’s name after the teenager said she had learnt her real identity in August 2021.

In a message to the alleged victim, she wrote: ‘I don’t even dress like a lad, it just took over my life.’ The trial continues.
