I PREFER natural beauty — someone approachable, honest and up for a laugh.

RELATIONSHIP HISTORY

I was divorced three and a half years ago after being married for 20 years. I’ve been on a few dates since but nothing significant. The feedback I always get is that I’m flirtatious, and look like a player. I can sort of see it when I look in the mirror, but I am a genuine, loving man with a heart of gold. In reality, I’m looking for The One.

PRE-DATE NERVES?

a lITTle bit, as I’ve never gone on a blind date before, but I’m ready for anything so was also excited.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

she prObably wasn’t my type to be honest. when I fancy someone, my excitement levels go up a notch. That first impression is what seals it. Despite her lovely personality, I just didn’t get that feeling. but I connected with her energy and warmth, so there was an immediate attraction in terms of personality.

EASY TO TALK TO?

we never stopped talking and even got quite deep about how we’ve overcome the trauma of difficult relationships. I’m pretty open and it was refreshing to share experiences with someone who has the same approach. we share a positive outlook on the times ahead of us. On a lighter note, we also both love eastenders. we’re both left-handed too, and have similar personalities.

EMBARRASSING MOMENTS? nOT really, I’m glad to say. DID SPARKS FLY?

There was harmless flirting between us, and easy back-andforth jokes. but I think we sensed early on that it wouldn’t go anywhere. Our differing lifestyles and career paths would keep us apart anyway.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET AGAIN?

yes Of course, but we both agreed we’d be better as friends more than anything else. we messaged to check the other had got home OK, but have kept up the conversation with the occasional chat about work.

WHAT DO YOU THINK SHE THOUGHT OF YOU?

I hOpe she liked my personality and my openness and that she felt very comfortable around me.

WOULD YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS LIKE HER?

yes, they would. she carries herself well and is a lovely person. but I’m still looking for that elusive One.
