CURRENT ROLE

WOULD LIKE TO MEET

I NEED a substantial man who is strong enough for an alpha female like me, yet wants to be protected too.

RELATIONSHIP HISTORY

I DIvOrceD three years ago after a 21-year marriage, but was legally separated after 16 years. I’ve only had one proper relationship since my divorce — sadly, both my exes were narcissists so I’m careful who I date now.

PRE-DATE NERVES?

I was excited, nervous and curious. I went for a smart- casual look that made me feel sexy.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

wIllIam was engrossed in his phone when I arrived so I had a few seconds to assess him. he’s attractive with nice eyes but not my type — I tend to prefer slightly taller men. It took me a minute to get his attention so he was flustered when he looked up, and I got the sense that his initial unfiltered reaction was one of disappointment.

EASY TO TALK TO?

we got on well and connected on a few levels. I think we established early on that there was no romantic connection but that just meant I could relax. we talked about toxic relationships in the past and discovered we’ve both been really hurt so are determined to find kinder, more positive partners. we opened up quite a bit and I felt we understood each other. Despite having different backgrounds, we bonded over things like fitness and nutrition, his DJ-ing business and my bollyX fitness teaching, so it was a fun conversation.

EMBARRASSING MOMENTS?

The InITIal meeting, as I had to break the spell cast by his phone to get his attention.

DID SPARKS FLY?

nOT really, but we had a good time. he talked about his ‘bad boy’ image; that people often assume the worst about him when he is actually kind and loyal. he gave me a kiss on the cheek as we parted.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET AGAIN?

If he was working in newcastle I’d come and say hello. we’ve exchanged numbers and have been messaging, just not on a romantic level.

WHAT DO YOU THINK HE THOUGHT OF YOU?

I hOnesTly don’t know. we did strike a chord over the fact we don’t want to mess around now. I sent him some warm messages afterwards telling him he has a lot going for him.

WOULD YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS LIKE HIM?

peOple who really know me would know he wasn’t for me, but he’s a lovely man.
