ADD A SPARKLE TO YOUR BRUNCH

-

EASTEr get-togethers are often a day event — and brunch can be easier than a more formal lunch. Here are suggestions for fun, frothy bubbles to serve now Spring is in the air.

Specially Selected Fleurs D’eau Sparkling Brut Rosé £7.49, Aldi

RAPIDLY becoming a cult classic at Aldi, this sparkling pink tastes just like subtle and saline Provençal rosé with bubbles. The bottle is so pretty, too.

Morrisons The Best Vinho Verde Rosé £8, Morrisons

NATURALLY spritzy and lighter in alcohol, a pink and pretty Vinho Verde like this, with its summer pudding flavours, ticks a lot of the daytime drinking boxes.

LB7 Vinho Verde DOC

£7.99 (mix six), Majestic

IF YOU prefer to sip on something light and spritzy that’s more on the dry side, this white Vinho Verde, offers fabulous bang for your buck as well as great label appeal.

Vilarnau Demi-Sec Cava

£13, Ocado

IF YOUR brunch or lunch includes cheese, or has some sweet flavours going on (chocolate eggs perhaps?), a slightly sweet sparkler like this covers all bases.

Montaudon Champagne AOP Brut £14.99, Lidl

TREMENDOUS value at around £15, this Champagne overdelivers both with its toasty flavours and its super-classy packaging. It looks a lot more expensive than it is!

ASDA Extra Special Crémant d’Alsace Brut

£9 (save £2), Asda SOFTER and fullerbodied thanks to the addition of local grapes. A fantastic food wine, especially if you’re serving umami- driven dishes with cheese.

Crémant de Bourgogne Brut

£13.50, Sainsbury’s

THIS is often made with Chardonnay grapes, so can taste similar to Champagne. This one is soft and very easy to drink with baked peach brioche notes.

ASDA Extra Special Prosecco Brut

£7.50 (save 50p), Asda

IT’S surprisingly hard to find the drier ‘brut’ style of Prosecco in supermarkets, but Asda carries this one and the five-star reviews say it all. Excellent value.

Bramble Hill English Sparkling Rosé £16, M&S

ONE of only a handful of English sparkling wines that’s made in the lighter, simpler (and therefore cheaper) Prosecco style, this has refreshing, tangy raspberry and

crunchy cherry flavours.

Della Vite Superiore D.O.C.G Prosecco £22, Ocado

THIS celebrity fizz, launched by the Delevingne sisters, is much more expensive than many other proseccos, but it is genuinely fantastic. Give it a try!
