How the SNP failed Scotland

- R. l. McCalluM, glasgow.

i Suggest that choosing yet another First Minister is not the real issue facing Scotland. if we seriously want to improve people’s lives, the question is: should the Scottish Parliament continue? Does anyone actually believe it has improved any part of Scottish life? everything of any importance is worse than it was before: health, housing, education, transportation, roads, policing, the economy and the environment. had Scotland been consistently governed by people who wanted only to improve things, the experiment might have succeeded. instead, the Parliament was taken over by separatists whose break-upthe-uK obsession has badly damaged Scotland.

Take the police service. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the well-established eight regional forces we had before 2013. The decision to merge them into one was political. Now Police Scotland, with Gaelic on every police vehicle, looks just a little bit like An Garda in the Republic of ireland. That pleases the separatists. But is our police service now more effective or efficient? No. Does it cost a lot less? No. Are people getting a better service? Definitely not. The same stupidity can be seen in every area of ‘Scottish Government’ activity. They couldn’t run a tap.

The separatists have all but ruined our country, and instead of quietly allowing them to select another overpaid failure, there should be an outcry aimed at ending the farce that is the Scottish Parliament. Turn the building into an exhibition centre and tell all those currently in there to go and get real jobs.
