We all have our crosses to bear... I don’t like being thin, declares SJP

HER petite frame has been the envy of many women for years.

But Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed she hates being thin and finds it difficult to put weight on.

The Sex and the City actress, 59, said: ‘A lot of people have their kind of their cross to bear. I don’t like being thin.

‘And if you met my siblings it’s the same genetic make up, and I don’t particular­ly think or celebrate being thin. I would prefer to have weight but that’s just the way my body works.’

smoking cocktail drinking Carrie Bradshaw in TV series Sex and the City and the spin- off films, last month completed a three-month run in Plaza Suite – her West End debut. She was on stage opposite her husband of almost 30 years, Matthew Broderick.

Talking to the beauty expert Caroline Hirons on Ms Hirons skincare and beauty-based podcast, Glad We Had This Chat, Ms Parker said: ‘The show was so physical. It was… honestly hard to keep weight on.

‘But I generally feel better when I’m exerting something different than just walking.’

Ms Parker married Broderick, 62, star of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, in 1997 after their love for the theatre brought them together. They have three children James Wilke, 21, and twins Marha and Tabitha, 14.

Both actors are keen cooks and prepare meals for their children. Ms Parker said: ‘Sometimes it’s a chore, but you create a longer time together. The kids love it. They know that they’re lucky. They always say, I can’t believe you guys cook for us every night.’
