Sugar Free goes Rory free

Star cut out of show after conviction

RORY Mcgrath has been edited out of a reality TV show at the last minute, following his conviction for harassing his former mistress.

The TV star, 60, was due to feature in tonight’s episode of Sugar Free Farm, which sees celebrities ditch sweets and do manual work in a bid to shed the pounds. He appeared on the show in 2016 and had filmed segments for the final episode of the current series, as the cameras revisited him to see if he had kept the weight off.

But following his conviction last week, insiders at ITV say bosses decided to axe his scenes and have spent the last couple of days editing him out of the episode. The move is a clear sign Rory’s career is on the wane. He previously appeared on BBC panel show They Think It’s All Over and comedy documentary Three Men In A Boat, but has made few appearances in recent years.

A source at ITV told the Mirror: “We took the decision that, given his recent conviction, it would be inappropriate for him to feature in the episode, so his contribution has not been included in the final edit.”

Mcgrath was last week given a 10-week suspended jail term at Huntingdon magistrates court, after admitting to harassing a married mum for more than a year after she ended their affair. As well as bombarding the woman with texts and emails, he also followed her on several occasions.
