RON’S BACK IN HOT-SEAT

-

BANBRIDGE Town have reappointed Ronnie Haughey as the club’s manager.

The Premier Intermediate League leaders made the decision last week with Haughey taking up the post following Saturday’s game against Queen’s.

It’s a second spell in charge at Crystal Park for the former Glenavon player.

His appointment is due to the fact previous player-manager Stuart King has not yet attained the relevant coaching qualification that is required when applying for a Club Licence.

He will, however, remain at the club as a player and coach.

Haughey said: “The club approached me and asked me if I would come back on board and with my long association with the club I couldn’t not help them out.

“Although there have been a couple of slip-ups in their last two games Stuart and the players have been brilliant in getting themselves into the mix for possible promotion, and with five games still to be played before the split the opportunity is there to regroup and go again.” DAVID MURPHY has left his role as joint-manager of Dundela.

Murphy parted from the club last week after 12 years of service as a player, coach and manager.

The club “would like to place on record their sincere gratitude for all his service and send best wishes on whatever he does in the future.”
