Groomsman Carl slips up on the jab..

BOXING hero Carl Frampton found himself in hot water with Paddy Barnes’ new wife.

The Tiger’s Bay man was a groomsman for Paddy and Mari on their big day last weekend.

But he found himself on the wrong side of the bride during the reception at Tullyglass House in Ballymena.

Writing in his Sunday Life column, the 29-yearold revealed he sneaked out of the wedding to watch the Josh Taylor fight.

He said: “Mick and Jamie Conlan, Sean Mccomb, Tommy Mccarthy, Tyrone Mckenna, Kurt Walker and a load of other lads didn’t want to miss it which didn’t go down too well with Mari, but I think she has forgiven us.” FANS of Gaelic games have been given a look at plans for Casement Park in a fly-through video.

Bosses unveiled it to supporters before the Ulster football final between Tyrone and Down yesterday.

The fly-through video provided a panoramic view of the ground, proposed sporting and community facilities as well as the project’s planned education, culture and heritage centre.

Ulster GAA submitted its planning application in earlier this year following a 32-week community consultation.

Findings revealed 95% of people that responded to the design were in favour of the project which proposes a spectator capacity of 34,186. Casement Park Project Board chair Tom Daly said: “We are extremely excited about the plans for our new stadium and we want GAA members, people in the local community and everyone that has an interest in the project to see for themselves the impact it will have and to have their voice heard on the project.

Antrim County Board chair Collie Donnelly added: “I got a real sense of excitement and expectation from people I spoke to today who had viewed the fly through video about the opportunities the new stadium will provide for Belfast and for clubs throughout the whole of our county.

“Antrim has great clubs, great Gaels and a great sense of community. People within the county are looking forward to seeing our new generation of players representing the saffron jersey with pride at the new provincial stadium at Casement Park, in Ireland’s second city.”

The video, was produced by Casement Park’s Award-winning design architect’s Populous.

The long-planned project has run into a number of problems.

Planning permission for the initial design was overturned in 2014 after objections from local residents. The latest plans have seen a reduction in capacity of almost 4,000.

There were also claims of bullying from a safety expert after he raised his concerns over emergency exits in the original design.
