Girl gap no joke
It’s not just female pay that’s a problem in TV at the moment – women are not getting a fair crack of the comedy whip.
Tiff Stevenson, back in the brilliant People Just Do Nothing on BBC Three next month, says: “I look at what’s being commissioned and it’s like 80% white middle-class blokes. We need more work authored by women coming through.”
Joker Tiff, speaking ahead of her Edinburgh Fringe show Bombshell starting next week, adds: “I feel the father/daughter relationship in comedy isn’t one that’s been massively exploited.
“I’m developing a show with Rich Hall and the BBC. He will be playing my long-lost father from the US and we start a country band together.”
