A JOGGER knocks a woman into the path of a bus in a shocking CCTV clip released by police hunting the man.

The 33-year-old pedestrian was sent flying to the ground as the man collided with her on a bridge without stopping.

As she rolled back, her head and shoulders swung over the edge of the kerb into the road, where the doubledecker managed to swerve just in time to avoid crushing her under its wheel.

The bus stopped and some passengers rushed to help the victim, who had suffered minor injuries in the incident on Putney Bridge in South West London.

As the jogger returned back across the bridge about 15 minutes later the woman tried to speak to him but he allegedly ran on without acknowledging her.

Footage from the 430 bus, which had been doing 12mph, and the one in front of it, was released by police yesterday.

Investigating officer Sergeant Mat Knowles said: “The victim was put in extreme danger when she was knocked into the road. It was only due to the superb quick reactions of the bus driver that she was not hit by the vehicle.

“We are keen to speak to the jogger about what happened. We’d urge him or anyone who recognises him to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

A colleague said of the bus driver: “He’s a hero. He should get a medal.”

The jogger in his early to mid 30s, believed to be from nearby Fulham, was running south while the woman, from Putney, was walking in the opposite direction towards Putney Bridge Tube station at around 7.40am on May 5.
