Cheapest option worked the best
I’ve always snored. I think it’s genetic. Mum snores – she and dad haven’t slept together for 25 years. And I’ve tried EVERYTHING to stop it.
You name it, I’ve given it a go. I even paid £4,000 for laser treatment on my nose and throat. It did nothing. I had my adenoids removed and my nasal passages widened. Didn’t work. I went to a sleep clinic. They couldn’t find a problem.
Then there’s been nasal strips, sprays, foam for the throat, lozenges… the only thing that worked was a mouthguard. I didn’t snore with that because I couldn’t sleep!
Phil says I’m quiet for a little while and then let out a ‘rip roarer’ of a snore. I am exercising at the moment but that’s made no difference either. If we know we need a good night, Phil and I don’t even try sleeping together.
The facial exercises involved me opening my mouth as wide as I could and sticking my tongue out forwards as far as it would go then extending it in an up, down, side to side motion. After two revolutions of these movements I had to hum the National Anthem in as deep a pitch as I could for at least two minutes.
To say I felt stupid is an understatement! Plus it was uncomfortable and made absolutely no difference.
The tennis ball was useless because I just automatically slept on my side and still snored.
Interestingly the toothpaste did make a difference.
Phil said I was quiet until at least 4am. I assume the mint has something to do with keeping the nasal passages clear. It’s the cheapest thing I’ve ever tried and I’ll definitely carry on.
