Groups up for charity fund award

Volunteers help those with mental health issues by listening and supporting them. The volunteers liaise with profession­als and families.

Bee Heard – mental health group Churchland­s Golden Gloves – boxing group

This boxing group opened its doors 12 years ago with the purpose of bringing boys and girls across the communitie­s together for friendship, confidence and the common purpose of boxing.

Vineyard Compassion – community support group

This group provides immense support to the local community through a food and clothing bank, housing for homeless, employment opportunit­ies, counsellin­g, rehab, life skills training, and providing support for single mums.

Beautiful Minds – mental health group

Group done much to help and support sufferers to help regain their confidence and get back their self-worth. It also offers a drop-in centre.

Causeway Older Active Strategic Team (COAST)

COAST support local groups offering hands on support to older people through their handyman service. This helps alleviate social isolation and encourages older people to engage in their local communitie­s again.

Friends of Rossmar Special School

Rossmar is a Special School in Limavady, that caters for children aged three to 19-years old. The school is getting a new build mid 2019. This is well overdue but unfortunat­ely the Education Board is not funding the outdoor play equipment. Their aim is to raise £50,000 for outdoor play equipment.

REACH Across - youth community group

This is a youth group that provides opportunit­ies for young people aged 14-17 from various background­s. It helps break down barriers and allow young people from all communitie­s to come together and build relationsh­ips through club nights, residentia­l weekends.

The Playhouse Theatre & Arts Centre

The Playhouse is one of Northern Ireland’s leading art centres. It is best known as a small and vibrant theatre, but also provides a vast array of arts, educationa­l and peacebuild­ing projects that provide opportunit­ies for a wide range of disadvanta­ged and marginalis­ed people.
