A TEENAGER who was killed in a road crash “always seemed to have a smile on his face”, his former teachers have said.

Ross Capper, 18, died after the singlevehicle collision in Portadown, Co Armagh, in the early hours of yesterday.

The former pupil at Portadown College had only completed his A-levels in June.

A statement from the Co Armagh school said he was a “true gentleman”.

It added: “The Portadown College community is deeply saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Ross Capper.

“Extremely popular with his peers and staff alike, he was very capable and easy going. Ross always seemed to have a smile on his face.

“We express our deepest sympathy to Ross’s parents and brothers, as well as to the wider family circle and his many friends at this very difficult time.”

Democratic Unionist MLA Jonathan Buckley said the victim had a “bright future ahead of him”.

He added: “My thoughts and prayers are with his family who I know personally and they’re held in very high esteem in the community.

“I remember two years ago I presented Ross with his President’s badge at the Boys Brigade.”

Mr Buckley also appealed for road users to take extra care on the roads particularly with weather conditions becoming increasingly hazardous.

Constable Michael Mcnee urged anyone who was travelling on the Dungannon Road just after midnight to contact police on 101.
