Wine made it a Stoned Age
STONE Age man enjoyed making and drinking wine more than 8,000 years ago, archaeologists have found.
Grape residue on bits of ceramic jar found in Neolithlic sites near Tbilisi, Georgia, showed that wine was around 1,000 years earlier than thought.
Stephen Batiuk, of the University of Toronto, said it was thought the earliest known proof of viniculture.
And he said in Neolithic times wine was a “medicine, social lubricant and mind-altering substance”.
