ON TRACK Fall-guy Sam facing spell on sidelines
SAM TWISTON-DAVIES is hoping to be back in action for the Ladbrokes Trophy meeting — formerly the Hennessy — at Newbury next month after suffering a broken elbow in a fall at Sandown on Sunday.
Twiston-davies (left), who gave up his rides at Kempton yesterday, went for X-rays and the damage was confirmed.
He said: “I’m sore, but am aiming for Newbury [December 1 and 2], fingers crossed.”
His boss Paul Nicholls will now call upon Sean Bowen and Harry Cobden as cover.
“We’ve got Sean and Harry as a good back-up team and they’ve done the job before,” said Nicholls.
