Lose Lords dead wood
It is indefensible to have so many peers claiming so much money when real grafters earn less while putting in a decent shift.
Replacing the House of Cronies with a fully elected chamber, or reforming Parliament so the House of Commons functions competently and efficiently alone, is a growing priority.
Publicly aware peers who recognise the House of Lords is sinking into a swamp of derision face a glaring choice. Either they lead by example and speak out, naming and shaming then jettisoning the undesirables, or the genuinely good and great will run the risk of being tarred with the same brush.
You can’t put a price on democracy but we can on the House of Lords. And it’s far too high.
