I sold bike for £75..then bid £4,750 for it

A RIDER who sold his motorbike for £75 has bought it back 48 years later for £4,750.

A friend told Paul Hayes, 66, that “a bike like yours” was up for sale on ebay.

Paul did not recognise the 650cc AJS he had sold in 1969 because it had a new number plate.

But when the seller told him its original registration, he gasped: “Good God, that’s my old bike.”

Paul, of Hardwick, Oxon, paid more than 60 times what he sold it for but said the bike brought memories flooding back, adding: “I’m over the moon.”
