INSPECTOR GEORGE GENTLY
DRAMA, 8pm
Racism is lurking both within the local community and in the police force in 1960s Northumberland. Of course, this may not come as a great shock to us, but our hero, Inspector Gently (Martin Shaw), is both disturbed and horrified. Especially since it all links to the murder of a young black girl.
But the most interesting aspect is watching the various characters react as Gently tries to tackle racism in the force.
