WHAT WE’RE ALL SAYING FIONA PARKER Grenfell survey an insult to the dead THE ISSUE

A survey by Kensington, Chelsea and Fulham Conservatives has been blasted as “insensitive” after it asked people living in the London borough to score the importance of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, and the help for the families affected, on a scale of zero

THE disgraceful survey about the Grenfell disaster just goes to show what the Tories really think about the ordinary people of this country (Mirror, November 14). It really is a shameful slur on those who lost their lives and those who continue to be affected by this tragedy, to be rated on a scale of zero to 10 as to how bad it was.

What an insensitive attitude to the residents of that ill-fated tower block. This Conservative Government has shown its true colours on more than one occasion and I am left wondering how much longer the public are going to put up with it?

Brian Scully, Wigan

The Tories have sunk to new depths by insulting the victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy with their shameful survey. Whoever thought up such an insensitive idea should be sacked and someone with a bit of diplomacy and tact given the job. But following recent events, diplomacy is something clearly lacking in the Tory Party.

Michael Elias, Carmarthen

With so many of the residents still waiting to be rehoused, it’s an absolute disgrace that the Kensington, Chelsea and Fulham Conservatives are more worried about what happens at next year’s local elections. This insensitive survey is deeply offensive to the victims of this terrible tragedy and it’s typical of how the Tories hold the poor of this country in contempt.

Naomi Brown, Leeds Before the scorching ashes from Grenfell Tower had cooled on the pavements of North Kensington, the Tories were making promises to councils that they would fund the cost of installing sprinkler systems in tower blocks.

This has turned out to be yet another Tory lie designed to appease the public following one of the worst tragedies in recent British history.

Nobody should believe a word the Tories say or any promises they make. Like a leopard, the ‘nasty party’ will never change its spots. Bill Cook Teignmouth Devon This survey adds insult to injury with regard to the appalling treatment of those left homeless by the horrific Grenfell Tower fire.

It seems the Tories are more concerned about a fall in the value of their mansions than they are about the victims of this disaster.

J Purvis, North London

I can hardly say I was surprised to read your item about the survey sent to residents living near the Grenfell Tower site by the local Tory Party.

The truth is that all the Tories care about is looking after their own. They are completely out of touch with the average person in the street.

The Grenfell Tower tragedy was avoidable and the cost of human life is unacceptable.

To lose loved ones in such a way is unimaginable. Grenfell just makes me feel ashamed of this country – the victims should not have died in vain.
