Lee: Keep Gers fans in the loop
LEE MCCULLOCH insists the Rangers board must give their long-suffering fans answers on the club’s managerial search at Thursday’s agm.
And the former Light Blues skipper hopes the Ibrox board can deliver a boss that excites the Gers supporters.
Mcculloch says back-toback defeats against Hamilton Accies and Dundee has turned the heat right up on Dave King.
The 39-year-old ex-captain was one of a number of players savaged by King during a clearout of players who missed out on promotion shortly after the South African won control.
But it’s King who is now being questioned as the hunt for a replacement for flop Pedro Caixinha enters a fifth week – with former boss Alex Mcleish installed as bookies favourite.
And Mcculloch said: “I know the fans are getting a bit impatient and rightly so.
“The Rangers AGM is on Thursday and all the questions being asked should get answered then.
“Certain people need to take responsibility and come out say, ‘This is where we are at and this is what we are planning to do’.
“You don’t want to get to the end of the season and think you should have got someone earlier.
“Or that you should just have waited and stayed with Graeme Murty. That’s the great conundrum. I’m glad I’m not making the decision!
“It is important Rangers get it right this time.
“The fans have backed the club, the board and the team and it’s time they got something to shout about.”
