Spoilt dog’s gifts cost over £1,000
A PAMPERED pooch will be opening 68 presents this Christmas, costing over £1,000.
Two-year-old cockapoo Lola’s gifts include premium toys, toiletries and a special festive roast.
Owner Helena Mueller, 38, spends at least £150 a month on Lola. Helen said: “She’s changed my life so much. We got her because I have an only child, Harry, who was four at the time. This year, she’s definitely getting more gifts than Harry.
“Lola never moans about homework, and never complains about what’s for dinner. She had her first snow yesterday, and I came in and realised I hadn’t taken any pictures of Harry – but had absolutely loads of Lola,” she said.
Insurance worker Helena and husband Mark, 50, got Lola as a pup in September 2015.
She has her own bank account and monthly allowance, a special pram and bike seat, and an extensive wardrobe, with outfits that match Helena’s. She enjoys creche visits, cinema trips and hour-long grooming sessions. Lola eats a raw food diet and Helena sometimes spoon-feeds her. Helena, from Cambs, said: “My husband’s view is happy wife, happy life. He knows where he comes in the pecking order. [Lola and I] do everything together.
“Yes, I am obsessive. I don’t disturb her if she’s asleep. If she’s cuddled up on me on the sofa and I want something, I make Mark get it. I took a week off from work when Lola had her spaying operation.
“When Harry has a cold I’m just like, ‘Off you go then.’”
