Clement fired up for return

- BY JAMES CANDY

SWANSEA manager Paul Clement will return to Goodison Park for the first time since Chelsea sacked Carlo Ancelotti in the changing rooms there.

The former Blues assistant followed the Italian out the exit door in May 2011 despite winning a Premier League and FA Cup double the season before. Clement revealed the night ended with a party, and he hopes to celebrate again – with a win over Everton.

He said: “I have not been back since that day. It was a really strange moment.

“We were kind of expecting it with the conversations we’d been having. I was surprised that it was done there in AXED Ancelotti lost his job after a defeat at Goodison the away dressing room, 30 minutes after the end of the game.

“We’d gone back onto the coach with the players and Carlo was there in the dressing room with the chief exec.

“Carlo got back on the bus and said, ‘Yeah, I’ve been fired’. He got back on the bus to the airport and had a plane back to London.

“The players knew and they arranged a night out for him, they took him out to a club back in London. It was a good night!”

If the Swans want to get off the bottom, they will have to stop former favourite Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Iceland midfielder has scored twice in the Toffees’ four-match unbeaten run.
