Legend is forced to cancel London trip due to exhaustion
LEGENDARY footballer Pele has been rushed to hospital after collapsing with severe exhaustion.
The three-time World Cup winner had been due in London this weekend for a Football Writers’ Association dinner held in his honour at the Savoy hotel.
But he has been forced to cancel the trip and is being kept on a drip as doctors continue to monitor his progress.
The ex-brazil forward, 77, has suffered a series of recent health setbacks.
This month he used a walking frame during the opening of the Carioca state football championships in
Rio de Janeiro. He had hip surgery in 2015 and is known to have suffered from kidney and prostate problems in the last few years.
In a statement, the Football Writers’ Association said: “In the early hours of Thursday, Pele collapsed and was taken to WORKERS renovating Buckingham Palace unearth vintage cigarette packs and a 130-year-old newspaper cutting as they take up floorboards.

It said other guests, including Gareth Southgate and Gordon Banks, were “determined to make the night a memorable one”.
Pele has reduced his public appearances in the past year due to ill health.
He used a wheelchair for the 2018 World Cup draw in Moscow last month.
