Postman is attacked with screwdriver

POLICE are appealing for information after a postman was attacked and robbed of mail.

He was approached from behind by a man armed with a screwdriver in the Cranbrook Court area of North Belfast on Saturday morning.

A PSNI spokesman said: “He was struck to the back and the arm but was thankfully not injured as a result of this.

“The attacker then made off towards Farringdon with some of the contents from the van.

“I am asking for anyone with information to call 101 quoting reference 404 10/03/18 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
