TEN time winners Dundela were the first name out of the bowl in last night’s Match Intermediate Cup semi-final draw at Mirror HQ.

The Wilgar Park men, who currently sit top of the Intermediate Premier League, were paired with Tony Heagney’s Amateur League Premier Division outfit Immaculata.

The meeting of these two Belfast teams meant that the remaining one of the three, Queen’s University, were paired with Ballymena Intermediate League outfit Glebe Rangers. Speaking before the draw, Match on Tuesday editor Ronnie Haughey said the occasion was a proud moment for everyone involved with the supplement as over the past 10 years they had championed the prestigious trophy from first round to last and were now delighted to be its main sponsor.

“We have always taken great pride in highlighting the achievements of teams who take part in the competition and ahead of the draw I would like to congratulate each club on reaching this stage and would wish you all the best of luck from here on in,” said Haughey.

Intermediate committee chairman Crawford Wilson also congratulated the teams on their progress and thanked the Mirror and Match on Tuesday for hosting the event.

Although venues for the two semifinals have to be confirmed the dates of the ties are known, with Wednesday April 4 and 11 penned in.

The final will take place on Tuesday May 8 at the National Stadium, Windsor Park.
