BURLEIGH SETS UP A CLASSIC
HOLDERS Enniskillen Rangers have set up a mouthwatering semifinal against three-time winners Harryville Homers. A fine hat-trick by captain and inspiration Willie Burleigh helped the Gers to a 3-1 quarter-final win away at Portavogie Rangers. It means the winners over the last four years will go head-to-head in what is sure to be a blockbuster clash. It was also 3-1 in the other quarter-final played at the weekend with Ahoghill Thistle advancing at the expense of H&W Welders U20s. Matt Boyd once again hit a brace while Ryan Marks completed the impressive win to set up a crack at either Greenisland or Newry Celtic in the semi-finals. Bangor remain out in front of the but they were given a real sweat at home to Cookstown Youth. Three-two down at the break, goals from Ben Roy and Mark Magennis turned the game on its head within minutes of the restart for a 4-3 win. Coagh United and St James Swifts cancelled each other out in a 1-1 draw while Dunloy thumped Desertmartin 4-0, Cookstown RBL battered Chimney Corner 8-0 and Brantwood went down 3-1 at Newtowne. In the NI Strabane Athletic beat Newbuildings, Ardstraw won at Maiden City and Dungiven drew with Magherafelt Sky Blues. The only game in the saw Ballygowan score nine away at Newtown Forest. Holders Strathroy Harps were dumped out of the after they lost 2-1 at home to Lisbellaw United. Safely through are Tummery Athletic, Strule United, Augher Stars and Mountjoy United. In the first round there was a 4-2 away win for Glebe United over Enniskillen Galaxy. In the Division One games, Killen Rangers won at Irvinestown while Magheraveely held Enniskillen Town United to a 3-3 draw. Dergview Reserves and Dunbreen Rovers won in Division Two while Enniskillen Athletic beat Orchard Farm in Division Three. Paul Mcneill banged in another hat-trick as Harryville Homers netted three points in the Darren Campbell (2), Mark Mckay, Ryan Stewart and Gary Bonnes were also on target in an 8-0 win over Carniny Amateurs. Elsewhere, Ballykeel beat Carnlough Swifts, All Saints OB won at Newpark Olympic and Raceview beat Ahoghill Rovers, while Carniny Rangers drew with Southside Rangers and FC Moylena against Abbeyview also ended in a draw. There were Division Two wins for Northend and District, FC Penarol and Braid United.
