SLAVISA UP FOR BIG RISE

- BY DARREN LEWIS

FULHAM want to hand boss Slavisa Jokanovic a tasty new deal to prevent the talented Serbian being poached.

The former Watford boss, 49, has attracted a number of admirers for his work reviving Fulham and fuelling their drive for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Jokanovic (above) took Watford up to the top flight in 2015 – only to leave Vicarage Road before his shot at the big time because of a contract stand-off.

He now has 12 months left on the two-year extension he signed in

February 2017.

The exit of Fulham’s director of statistical research Craig Kline could help Jokanovic get an even bigger say in transfers after his successes in January bringing in loanees Aleksandar Mitrovic from Newcastle as well as Matt Targett from Southampton, and signing Cyrus Christie from

Middlesbrough. SOUTHAMPTON will move for Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer – if they stay up.

The Saints are long-time admirers of the Spain striker, who is ready to leave after struggling for first-team chances with the La Liga champions in waiting.

Alcacer (above), 24, scored 29 goals in two seasons with Valencia before making a £30million switch to Barca in 2016.

Saints have been goal-shy this season and want to rectify the problem.
