And they have urged parents to get rid of any they might have at home.

In a post on PSNI Craigavon’s Facebook page, officers compared a fake gun found in bushes on Clara Street, Lurgan, with the real deal.

And, aside from feeling the weight in their hands, they insisted many would be unable to tell the difference if one was pointed at them.

The post said: “Parents, get rid of realistic gun toys.

“The toy here was left lying. It could have ended in so many worse ways. It’s never worth of Belfast in June, as well as London, Edinburgh and Cardiff, for Processions marking 100 years since the Representation Of The People Act.

Millennium Court Arts Centre the risk. Having handled the fake, there is an alarmingly authentic weight and action to it.”

The post emphasised the risk involved if the guns fall into the wrong hands.

Centre directorjackie Barker hailed the “terrific legacy” of the project. one’s real? Which one’s fake? If you worked in a shop, and either was pointed at you, what would you do? Take a risk? Hand money over?

“What if you were a responding police officer? Would you let it get to the stage of it being pointed at you? I know I wouldn’t.

“This is why toy guns should never be realistic-looking. If they fall into the wrong hands the results can be deadly.”
