likes doing in the buff – the 78-year-old is a secret nudist.
“She adores swimming in the nude,” reveals her daughter, Rebecca. “She’s a naturist.
“If she wasn’t famous she would go in for full-on nudity. She’s a bit naughty, my mum.”
Rebecca is keen to point out there is “nothing sexual” about her mum’s nakedness, after Esther revealed her secret: “It’s the freedom of feeling the wind and sunshine on her skin,” she said.
Katy had a meeting with the Supreme Pontiff in April, and says she likes His Holiness as he is “compassionate”, “humble” and reminds her of Snow White.
It’s because he’s “often depicted surrounded by woodland animals”, notes Vogue Australia. And her favourite Saint is friend of animals Francis of Assisi, his namesake.
Anyway, they met when Katy, a Catholic, spoke about transcendental meditation at a health summit earlier this year, to which she took actor boyfriend Orlando Bloom. Since then, Katy seems to have started speaking in tongues.
“We are all computers, and sometimes we adopt these viruses,” psychobabbles Katy to the mag about her recent “system reboot”, which saw her check in to a Californian “personal growth retreat” for a week in January.
Think of an expensive spa, with therapists. It followed an annus horribilis in which the Firework singer suffered “bouts of situational depression” after the public failed to warm to her last album.
“That brokenness, plus me opening up to a greater, higher power and reconnecting with divinity, gave me a wholeness I never had.” At least she’s feeling better.
