Mallaghan wins £3m investment
A MANUFACTURING firm is bringing 210 new jobs to Northern Ireland.
Mallaghan Engineering is recruiting as part of a five-year expansion plan as it embarks on a multi-million pound investment.
Details include product development underpinning the need for capital investment in factory capacity and equipment.
It will also implement an extensive training programme to develop workforce skills.
The company has been offered more than £3million of support.
Invest Northern Ireland chief executive Alastair Hamilton said: “This is fantastic news for Mid Ulster and Northern Ireland’s manufacturing industry.
“Mallaghan Engineering is investing in production, skills and jobs in an expansion at its Dungannon headquarters.
“The 210 additional staff the company expects to recruit over the next five years will generate over £5million annually in additional salaries to the economy.”
And he told how the boost “will help satisfy demand for ground support equipment worldwide”.
The company designs, manufactures and supplies ground support equipment for the global aviation industry, primarily to service commercial aircraft.
Its principal products are highlift trucks for catering, cabin cleaning and facilitating restricted movement passengers as well as de-icing rigs, water and waste trucks, baggage conveyors and various forms of passenger stairs.
The company is developing an airport apron bus as part of its R&D investment and expects to add this new product to its portfolio by the end of 2018.
CEO Ronan Mallaghan said: “This expansion will help secure the future growth of our firm.”
