YOUNG EINSTEIN
Ophelia, 3, has higher IQ than genius behind the theory of relativity
WHEN Ophelia Morgan-dew spoke her first word at eight months and it had two syllables, her mum knew she had a very clever girl.
Now, aged three, she has had confirmation that her daughter is a genius – and smarter even than Albert Einstein.
Experts gave her an IQ score of 171, while the legend who came up with the theory of relativity notched 160.
Ophelia’s score is also higher than the 162 of Arnav Sharma, 11, and Rahul Doshi, 12, who were previously hailed as Britain’s cleverest kids.
Proud mum Natalie, 31, said: “A lot of people, including myself, almost shy away from celebrating their children’s intellectual achievement. There seems to be a stigma.
“But then I thought it is no different to parents celebrating a medal in a sports event, so she deserves praise.”
Ophelia attends Abacus 2000 Nursery School in Ross-onwye, Herefordshire. Natalie and hubby Ben Dew, 40, took her for tests after she exceeded all her early goals.
Natalie, who says Ophelia’s first word was “Hiya”, said: “She started speaking really early. We realised she was quite far ahead of the other children.”
The couple had thought about sending Ophelia to school early, this September.
But Natalie said: “I don’t want to push her out of her comfort zone, mentally. The important thing is she’s happy.”
