MOIRA CALLING FESTIVAL HOSTS A LINE-UP OF FANTASTIC LOCAL TALENT IN A STUNNING SETTING

-

Moira Calling might be one of the newest kids on the block when it comes to local festivals but it has also quickly become one of the most lauded. Not least given that Moira Demense is one of the most remarkable spaces in NI in which to hold any kind of event.

Moira Calling is now into its third year and has carved its niche as a special boutique, family friendly two-day festival celebrating all that is local from the finest food, drinks and music.

Heading up the bill this year is a huge selection of hand-picked acts performing across 2 stages and two days.

Featuring a selection of the finest singer songwriters and bands on the scene, highlights include a special collaboration between Ryan Vail & Arco String Quartet who will start proceedings on the Friday night while Saturday will see a host local talent and acts from further afield perform across the day on two stages.

Acts appearing across the weekend will include Joshua Burnside, Owen Denvir, Rews, Beauty Sleep, Hunkpapa, Jordan Adetunji, Vokxen, Runabay, Leeds based breakthrough act, Marsicians and many more. See over yonder for the full rundown of who’e splaying where and when!

Festival organiser, Jillian Marsden said, “We are super excited with our line up for 2018. It is an eclectic, diverse mix of artists and bands, which we feel has something for everyone.

This year we are absolutely thrilled to be partnering up with Bushmills Irish Whiskey, who historically share our great passion for music and innovation. Together we believe we can create something fresh and exciting. We really hope people will join us at Moira Calling at the start of September to bring their summer to an amazing end.”

Tickets are available now – Friday tickets cost £12.50 each, Saturday tickets are £30 each and weekend camping tickets are £35.

Tickets are available from www. moriacalling. com or you can also pay at the gate.

Children under 18 years old are welcome when accompanied by an adult. A couple of years ago we spoke to a young musician called Weston Clendinning - an Armagh lad who sounded anything but - even as a teen there seemed to be a wilful eccentricity that set him apart from his peers. His band Castle had a folk-rock vibe that was raw and unfinished but which hinted that at something more. He’s moved on and is doing great things on the live circuit with Hunkpapa. They’re named after a Throwing Muses album and in many ways this is perfect their earthy pop and rock caught somewhere between, perhaps, Mumford and Sons and

Adam and the Ants.
