Killer woman with ‘Snapchat obsession’ gets 14yrs

- BY JEREMY ARMSTRONG

A WOMAN who posted video of her boyfriend bleeding to death on a street was yesterday jailed for 14 years by a judge who said Snapchat dominated “all aspects of her life”.

Fatima Khan, 21, had captioned the footage of Khalid Safi, 18, dying: “This is what happens when you f*** with me.”

Judge Michael Topolski said it was “difficult to over-emphasise” Snapchat’s importance in Khan’s life. He added: “It featured at every turn of this case as the tragic story at the centre of it unfolded.”

He said of her filming of Khalid: “It is hard to understand how anyone could act in such a callous and despicable way.”

Khan, of Ilford, East London, was convicted of manslaughter in July. She wanted to dump Khalid and lured him to a meeting where he was stabbed in the heart by Raza Khan, 19.

At the sentencing hearing at the Old Bailey yesterday her lawyer described her as an attention-seeker who had a “deeply unhealthy pathological obsession” with Snapchat. He added: “[The] app has THE mother whose daughter’s heart saved Mirror boy Max Johnson has shared an emotional final memory.

Loanna Ball was with Keira just before the nine-year-old’s organ was given to Max, the face of our Change the Law for Life campaign.

The mum-of-four said: “This precious photo shows the last time I got to hold my beautiful princess’s hand.”

Loanna, 34, added: “I’m so proud of my children who stayed with their sister until the end.

“They witnessed things no child or parent should ever have to.”

The picture has been posted 14 months after the car accident in which Loanna was seriously injured and Keira lost her life.

Her son Bradley, now eight, was also injured. The carer, of Barnstaple, Devon, said: “I remember them taking me down to see Keira and feeling a squeeze of my hand.”

Loanna and train-fitter husband Joe, 35, founded the Inspired by Keira charity to offer help to bereaved families.

Keira’s sister Keely, 12, is raising money for the Devon Air Ambulance and Max, of Winsford, Cheshire, joined the Balls at the North Devon show last month.

The Government has promised to pass by 2020 Max’s Law, where all citizens are potential donors unless they specifically opt out.

The court heard that Khalid, from Afghanistan, hid on a lorry crossing the Channel at the age of 13 after spending time in the Jungle refugee camp in Calais. He sought asylum, moved to London and had ambitions to become a mechanic.

The court was told Raza Khan is still on the run.
