boss David Jeffrey insists he isn’t getting carried away by the Sky Blues’ vibrant start to the Danske Bank Premiership.

Back-to-back wins over last year’s champions Crusaders and table-topping Glenavon has propelled the Braidmen up to third in the table.

The fact United lie seven points off the summit having played nine of their 13 games away from home due to recent work on the Showgrounds pitch is impressive.

But while Jeffrey has praised his players’ recent form, he has warned them they are only one or two defeats away from slipping into the bottom half of the table. Ahead of today’s trip face

at The Oval, he said: “That’s how close this league is. You can be third or seventh in the blink of an eye. They are very fine lines.

“Ultimately you can only see what you have achieved come the end of the season. Nobody is getting carried away.”
