LOUGHGALL are setting their sights on a top three finish this season after continuing their recent run of strong form, insists Peter Campbell.

The 21-year-old has been a constant in Dean Smith’s side this campaign and has helped the team on a nine-game unbeaten run, with five victories in their last six games.

“Why can’t we finish in the top three come the end of the season,” Campbell told Match On Tuesday.

“I was speaking to the boss Dean Smith at the start of the campaign and we were talking about our aims for the season, and he believed our squad was within the best three in the division.

“We know that not only do we have the quality to do really well but this season now we have the depth in our squad, with options off the bench, and that makes a big difference.

“It’s a good mix of players too because we have a lot of promising youngsters mixed with experience­d heads and it’s a good combinatio­n.

“Now that we are on this run we should be raising our expectatio­ns and believing we can be here at the end of the season.”

Campbell has been in fine form this season, netting eight goals in 15 appearance­s – making him the club’s top scorer for the campaign to date.

“It’s strange because at the start of the season I just couldn’t score no matter what I tried,” explained the forward.

“My aim at the start of this campaign was to score more goals than I did last season and now I have already surpassed that and we are only in November.
