Earlier in the season we were not playing badly but just weren’t getting the rub of the green. “Now we are in great form and not thinking about anything, just playing the way we feel we should.” Campbell netted twice in Saturday’s 6-0 rout of 10man Dergview at Lakeview Park, as the Mid-ulster side moved into third and continued their impressive recent form.

“We’re going into every game now looking to win,” he continued.

“We knew that when they went down to 10 men in the first half we would need to be patient but we were aware that when the first goal went in, the game would open up and it would suit us.

“It turned into one-way traffic and this is a continuati­on of how we have been playing in recent weeks.

“Now we are on a long unbeaten run and that reflects the quality of the football that we are playing, things have really clicked.

“Training has had a really high tempo in the past five or six weeks and everyone is enjoying the sessions and enjoying the football on Saturday.

“It’s tough and more demanding but we are thriving under it and there’s a really good spirit in the squad.

“There’s great camaraderi­e within the squad and a lot of us have played together since we were kids – me, Andrew Hoey, Jamie Rea (left) – and we know each other’s games.”

Next up for Loughgall is a trip to the PSNI on Saturday, with a 2pm start at Newforge.
